Why Become a Member of GHS?

Since 1900, the Germantown Historical Society has led local efforts to preserve and protect the rich cultural and historical resources of our community. Through the support of our members, we continue to work towards preserving, recording and interpreting the history of the old German Township, now encompassing the neighborhoods of Germantown, Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill. In addition to special events and programs offered in conjunction with Historic Germantown and Freedom’s Backyard, we offer the opportunity to explore the history of the northwest region through our publications and the resources available in our library and archives and museum.
