An Insider's View of the Antiques Roadshow on Public Television!
CresswellOn November 13, 2011, Dr. Donald H. Cresswell, author, librarian and co-owner of The Philadelphia Print Shop in Chestnut Hill, will lead a lively discussion featuring stories drawn from over ten years as a regular guest appraiser on PBS's highest-rated series.
Following Dr. Cresswell's discussion the society will host "What Is It? Let Us Help You Shed Light on Your History Mystery!" Open to members of the Germantown Historical Society ($30.00 memberships can be purchased at the door) a panel of experts will be on hand to examine your object and offer you some information about its history. Participants are invited to bring along one book, print, historical photograph or small object (that can be held in their hand). No sofas or sideboards, please!
Both events will take place on Sunday, November 13, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Germantown Cricket Club, 411 West Manheim Street, Philadelphia, PA 19144. Light refreshments will be served. Tickets: $20 in advance/$25 at the door.
Attendees are encouraged to come early and enjoy brunch at the beautiful Cricket Club, a National Historic Landmark building designed by McKim, Meade and White in 1893. Brunch begins at 11:30. Price: $25.00 (includes tax and gratuity)
